Hookah - Bamboo, metal

Large Chinese bamboo hookah with metal fittings, circa 1900 Description A large Chinese hookah, made from a hollow bamboo stalk with decorative metal fittings and a side connection. For this type of pipe, the bamboo served as a water reservoir. The shape resembles a Chinese standing bamboo hookah of the pa-kong type. The object probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century, around 1900. A more precise dating cannot be established without marks or provenance. In the photos there are no visible marks or inscriptions. There is no separate bowl or long stem visible; only the parts shown in the photos are included. Condition With signs of age, stains and patina. The metal parts are discolored and the side connection shows wear. The functionality has not been tested.
