Horacio Lengo (1840-1890) - Grand Prix

The painting showcases Horacio Lengos technical range through ultra-realistic details: an open antique folding paper fan depicting an elegant figure, fresh pink oleanders, and a yellow rose alongside meticulously rendered insects (a grasshopper and a snail). Inscribed within the textured impasto are the words "Grand Prix" and "Handicap"—alluding to popular late 19th-century Parisian equestrian races or high-society competitions.
