Hornby 0 - Model train (59)

Between 2002 and 2004, Hachette released a series of magazines that appeared in installments. With each issue there was a factsheet of a French Hornby locomotive or a piece of rolling stock from the M-series (made of tinplate), although some models were more 'inspired by' than direct copies of the original Hornby models. In some issues (about 40 percent) there was also a piece of track, including straight and curved sections and points. Each rail piece had only two sleepers and no provision to connect one piece to another. For every locomotive and every piece of rolling stock there was a box included (delivered flat and needing to be assembled). All locomotives and rolling stock had four wheels, and each locomotive was powered by a wind-up motor. The magazines were equipped with two holes so they could be stored in the binder shown below. Each magazine consisted of eight folded sheets that could be separated from one another to be filed in the binder (separator pages were included). The topics were: Collector’s Corner, Motive Power, Rolling Stock, Great Trains of the World, The Men of the Railway, The History of Railways, Stations, Viaducts and other Works, and Signalling and Movements. Original red boxes are included.
