Domaine Huet is the most storied estate in Vouvray, founded in 1928 and raised to legend by Gaston Huet, the winemaker-mayor who defended the appellation for more than half a century. Le Mont, on flinty clay over limestone, is the source of its tautest, most long-lived Chenin Blanc. This lot pairs two 2007 Le Mont bottlings across the sweetness spectrum: the off-dry Demi-Sec, scored 92 by Joel B. Payne of Vinous, and the bone-dry Sec, scored 92+ by Josh Raynolds of Vinous. 2007 was a good Loire vintage that gave both wines richness and cut.
