Huge Bespoke 22ft Burr Walnut & Crossbanded Dining Table & 22 chairs

This is a fantastic bespoke handmade Victorian Revivaldining set, comprising a gorgeous burr walnut dining room table with the matching set of twenty two chairs. This stunning set would also be appropriate for a conference room, whatever its function it will make a profound impact on your guests and will receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed. The table top has exquisite ebony and satin wood banding to highlight the burr walnut. It has five leaves of 80 cm each which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special double winding mechanism. When all the leaves are removed and the table is completely wound in, it measures 280x180cm (approx 9ft by 6ft). The table is raised on six elegantly carved legs for stability and they terminate in brass cup castors. The table is made from burr walnut which has a really beautiful grain and to highlight the grain it has been French polished by hand. French polish is an alcohol and shellac polish for wood, it takes a lot of patience and hard work, but it is one of the most beautiful finishes available, producing an exceptionally high gloss. The matching set of twenty two chairs comprises twenty side chairs and a pair of armchairs. The chairs are made of solid walnut, have been beautifully French polished and upholstered, and the exquiste banded decoration is hand cut to match the table. The drop in seats can be removed in hot weather so that the cane seats below can be utilised. We can make this dining set to your specifications in size and design.
