Russian Orthodox icon of the “Feasts” type (Menaion) - Russia, 19th century Tempera and gold leaf on wood panel Rare Russian Orthodox icon of the “Feasts” type, presenting an important cycle of scenes from the life of Christ, the Virgin and the main liturgical feasts of the Orthodox Church. The different compositions are accompanied by inscriptions in Slavonic and rendered in a traditional palette dominated by reds, ochres and greens. This icon constitutes a beautiful example of 19th-century Russian production, intended for private devotion while offering a rich iconographic synthesis of the Orthodox liturgical calendar. Condition: wear, craquelure, small losses and old restorations, in keeping with its age. Overall presents a lovely patina and good legibility of the scenes. The photographs are an integral part of the object description and complement the presentation. They allow you to appreciate its condition and characteristics. Please examine them carefully before any bidding. The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery. Happy bidding
