Icon - Tempera on wood - Mother of God and the Apostles

Hand-painted icon of the Virgin Mary with Child, probably from a Bulgarian school, second half of the 20th century. The Virgin and Christ are surrounded by the Twelve Apostles and by angelic figures, in a composition rich and of particular iconographic interest. Beautiful chroma, with intense reds, blues and gilding, and a painting with a markedly archaizing taste. Small but full of character, expression of the Balkan iconographic tradition. Good overall condition. Measures 19x16 cm. Adequate packaging and fast shipping.
