Iittala - Timo Sarpaneva - Candleholder Festive (2) - Glass - Festive

Two tall vintage candelabras by Timo Sarpaneva for the Finnish Iittala. Iconic design from 1967. With the Festivo series, the designer aimed to return to nature and, using a special technique, imitate ice. Both candlesticks are marked at the bottom with engraved initials T.S. Very good condition, no damage. Height of the candlesticks is approximately 32 cm Weight: 1094 grams and 1200 grams. The difference in weight here is due to the early production process. Very impressive and valuable pair of Festivo candlesticks. The variant with 8 rings is the absolute king of the series: with a height of about 31.5 to 32 centimeters, this is the largest size that Timo Sarpaneva designed. The hand-engraved initials 'TS' (Timo Sarpaneva) on the bottom confirm that these are early vintage examples, presumably produced between the late 1960s. Iittala at the time had the largest and most prestigious sizes from the series manually signed in the factory before they were packed. Modern reproductions or later serial productions completely miss this engraving. Candlesticks are very well packed and insured for shipping.
