Ilias Lanaounis (1920-2013), a neoclassical copper and wood desk plaque, depicting Apollo seated at the prow of a classical gally. Executed as a modern interpretation inspired by Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite themes, the work combines classical mythology with the artist's distinctive abstract approach. Signed and dating from the 1970s, the plaque retains its original frame and is accompanied by a label to the reverse referencing Athens, Greece. A highly decorative and unusual work by this recognised Greek artist, displaying both artistic and historical interest.
