Imperial eagle in bronze and marble. Stand for an antique clock. 1028

Descriptio Cast bronze and veined marble. Wingspan 16.5 cm; height 13 cm; base 11 cm. Weight 1,028 grams. Tabletop stand for a pocket watch or watch chain, traditionally known as a porte-montre, featuring an imperial eagle with outstretched wings and a ring in its beak for suspending the watch. The eagle stands on a stepped pedestal and a veined marble base, creating an image with clear Napoleonic symbolism. The modeling of the feathers, the frontal posture, and the architectural structure of the base reflect the ornamental style of the 19th-century French Empire. Provenance from a private collector of antiques. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
