Innocente Salvini (1889-1979) - Scorcio urbano

Signed work by Innocente Salvini (a renowned Lombard master famous for his visceral connection with the land, the rural landscapes and the atmospheres of his homeland); a painting (oil on hard panel) that fully reflects his expressive maturity: - The free and material brushwork: The painter's stroke does not seek academic or photographic detail, but relies on a gestural, dense and instinctive application. The brushstrokes are thick and vigorous, capable of giving physicality and depth to the walls of rustic buildings and to define architectural volumes through energetic contrasts and sharp cuts of light. - The use of earth colors: We find the painter's typical warm palette, dominated by earthy tones, ochres and dense yellows that recall the rustic plaster and old rural walls. These warm tones dialog in strong contrast with the bright and intense green of the upper background, a bold chromatic stroke that gives the whole piece an almost suspended, vibrant atmosphere with great emotional impact. - The gesture and structural synthesis: The openings, the sloping roofs and the volumetry of the construction are the synthesis of solid forms. The shadow is not rendered with cold academic tricks, but is carved with dark and tactile chromatic passages, enhancing that "color-sign" typical of Salvini's expressionist and verismo painting. Dimensions painting approx: 56 x 42 cm Framed dimensions (contemporary): 72 x 56 cm An artwork that condenses the evocative strength of Lombard landscape painting of the 20th century, where nature and rural architecture merge through the vitality of color. The painting will be sent with tracked package. N.B. The glass, if sent, will be sent as a gift. Returns are not accepted for glass breakage during transport.
