Italian school (XVIII) - Madonna del Correggio

The artwork is a homage/copy of the famous Italian Renaissance master Antonio Allegri, known as Correggio. It features a finely engraved halo directly into the gold ground surrounding the head. Frame: It is housed inside a fine period gilded wooden frame with a moulded edge, enriched with relief-carved decorations, which greatly enhances the visual impact of the work, giving it the appearance of a true antique painting. Madonna del Correggio, painted in 1921 “The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not constitute an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame will not be grounds for complaint.”
