Italian school (XX) - Il corteggiamento

The painting shows a young woman who is placed at the center of the scene in a modest and graceful pose. She gazes sweetly downward toward her hands, busy leafing through a small flower (probably a daisy — a classic gesture of loves me, loves me not). Her face expresses shy and serene composure. The man positioned to the right of the observer leans forward with ardor toward the girl. He is depicted in profile, with an intense and concentrated expression as he whispers courting words to her. His posture, with his body inclined and his arm resting on the balustrade, conveys a sense of ardor and audacity that contrasts with her shyness. The painter shows extraordinary care in recreating period costumes inspired by Renaissance or late medieval times. The painting will be packed with the utmost care and professionalism. It will be protected by several layers of bubble wrap and rigid corner guards to preserve the frame.
