Landscape with stone bridge and floral arrangement Period: 19th century / early 20th century, to be verified Style: figurative painting with a classical and romantic taste, with elements of floral still life. The composition is ideally divided into two main elements: on the left a landscape is depicted, characterized by a stone bridge with multiple arches, architectures and vegetation, immersed in a suggestive and twilight atmosphere. On the right emerges a rich arrangement of polychrome flowers, gathered inside a large wicker basket. The palette is dominated by deep tones of brown, green and ochre, with accents of red, white and pink in the flowers. The strong contrast between the dark background and the floral composition gives the work a theatrical and decorative character. The work fits into the tradition of European figurative painting with a classical taste, combining elements of picturesque/romantic landscape with those of floral still life. The author is not identified and there are no signatures, labels or provenance documents visible on the back. The painting has been preserved for over 50 years within the same private family collection. The work is presented in a wooden frame/mount and is painted on canvas.
