Italie - Football World Championships - Dino Zoff - Goal keeper gloves

This goalkeeper glove model is directly drawn from a historical reissue or inspired by the iconic collections of the 1980s and 1990s, marketed by the German brand Uhlsport. The retro model visible in the image, featuring the Italian inscription « un guanto nella storia » (a glove in history) on the box, directly references the brand’s golden era during the 1982 World Cup. It was at that time that the legendary Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff led his team to victory while wearing the mythical gray and red gloves signed Uhlsport, firmly anchoring the brand in football history. This box is, in reality, a special and limited edition, linked to the release of a commemorative book in 2012. The inscription « Un Guanto nella Storia » (A Glove in History) is the title of an Italian historical work written by Massimo Ferrari and Fabrizio Ferron (an former Italian Serie A professional goalkeeper who played for Atalanta, Sampdoria, and Inter Milan). The Totem Object: This project was designed to trace the technical evolution of goalkeeper gloves. The central anchor point is the mythical Uhlsport model « 040 », the exact model worn by the legendary Italian captain Dino Zoff at his 1982 World Cup triumph at the age of 40. Produced in a very limited series to accompany the Italian editorial project, this reissue is a museum piece for Vintage Football enthusiasts and glove collectors. Finding a pair new in its original box is extremely difficult.
