Rare and fascinating geopolitical map that captures a crucial moment in Italian and European history: the transfer of territories of the Serenissima Republic of Venice under the control of the Habsburg Monarchy, following the Treaty of Campoformio (1797). The map offers extraordinary detail of the era's topography, showing: Territories: Friuli (with Udine and Gorizia), eastern Veneto (Treviso, Padua, Rovigo) and the coast of Istria. Hydrography and toponymy: Minute detail of the courses of rivers (Piave, Tagliamento, Livenza, Brenta), the mountain ranges and the Venetian and Friulian lagoons. Toponyms emphasized: In the lower part the German inscription reads “Der Venetianische Meerbusen oder das Adriatische Meer” (The Gulf of Venice or the Adriatic Sea). Light and natural aging of the edges / Presence of slight foxing that do not compromise the readability of the map
