Lot of 7 World War I Military Postcards - "Where Our Soldiers Fight" - Ed. Visentini Rome - NEW Rare lot of 7 original artistic military postcards from the World War I era (1915-1918). The postcards belong to the famous and sought-after patriotic and documentary series titled "Where Our Soldiers Fight," published by the prestigious exclusive concessionaire A. Visentini - Rome. The series is historically extremely important because, through high-quality period illustrations, it retraces the geographic milestones and battlefields of the Italian front, from Stelvio to the Adriatic. The lot consists of 7 pieces (of which a nearly complete sequence from number 7 to 12): No. 5: "From Tonale Pass to Stelvio" (The Front of the White War) No. 7: "Upper Vicentino and the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities" (Asiago/Pasubio area) No. 8: "From Tolmezzo to Pal Piccolo and the Fella Valley" (Carnian Alps) No. 9: "From Passo Pordoi to Cortina d'Ampezzo Toblaco" [Dobbiaco] (Dolomites Front) No. 10: "The Karst and the Isonzo Valley up to Tolmino" (The zones of the great battles of the Isonzo) No. 11: "Trieste and surroundings" (The final destination of patriotic redemption) No. 12: "Upper Cadore and Carnia" (The rugged border peaks) The postcards were produced between 1915 and 1918 (the period of the conflict). The presence of the Karst/Isonzo sectors (No. 10) and the iconic "Trieste and surroundings" (No. 11) place the printing of this specific series in the mature phase of war propaganda or immediately after the victory, intended to celebrate the country’s symbolic places. Excellent condition, never traveled, the edges are straight, the corners well preserved and the paper presents its natural and fascinating patina of time, without heavy moisture stains or tears. All the postcards are present in the photographs with a full image of both front and back and a front image for each individual postcard.
