Jack Gage (1946) - Blue & Gold Elegance

Jack GAGE (1946) Blue & Gold Elegance I - Oil on canvas. Magnificent piece, ready to hang. A striking contemporary painting by Jack Gage, executed in a powerful neo-pop/cubist visual language. The work presents a stylized female portrait built from geometric shapes, strong black outlines and a pronounced color palette of deep blue, yellow, black and white. The composition is inspired by the visual language and aesthetics found in the work of the French artist and art director Jean Luc Michon. The graphic approach is translated by Jack Gage into a hand-painted work with its own execution and character. The contrast between the serene face, closed eyes and the bold geometric background gives the painting both calm and visual impact. Through the pronounced colors and modern look it forms a decorative statement in both a modern and eclectic interior.
