Jack Gage (1946) - Red & Blue

Jack GAGE (1946) - Blue Contemplation A striking and decorative work by Jack Gage, in which two human figures are composed from a powerful red-white and blue-white chessboard pattern. The two figures seek closeness to each other, creating a strong interplay between color, geometry, movement and intimacy. The vivid red and blue contrasts beautifully with the dark background and gives the work from a distance a strong visual presence. The chessboard structure follows the contours of the bodies and reinforces the sense of volume and movement. The combination of a contemporary visual language with a playful, sensuous composition makes this a true eye-catcher in both a modern and eclectic interior. The work is signed at the bottom and offered including the pictured frame.
