Jacques Blin - Jug - Ceramic - Splendid teapot

Jacques Blin (1920-1995) - Important iridescent glazed ceramic spherical vase decor with stylized birds, 1950-1960. Magnificent and authentic jug of plump form ("ball") with a side handle in glazed ceramic, the work of the famous French ceramicist Jacques Blin. The piece bears the artist's signature decor: a finely engraved and underglaze-scarified central frieze, depicting stylized fantastical birds surrounded by foliate motifs. The characteristic glaze displays subtle shades of beige, cream, and green, enhanced by the use of manganese oxide giving this grainy, textured look highly sought after by collectors. The reverse of the base is hand-signed "J. Blin" accompanied by his distinctive lightning-bolt monogram and the workshop model number: 3809 M. Height 20 cm. Very good condition. No cracks, restorations, or chipping. Careful packaging and prompt shipping."
