Rare, enriched edition with numerous tables of sines, tangents and logarithms and beautiful folding plates engraved in copperplate intaglio - This mathematical treatise is devoted to the systematic study of trigonometry, that is, the relations that allow the determination of the unknown elements of triangles from their sides and angles - Ozanam, the French mathematician renowned for his pedagogical works and his commitment to making mathematics accessible to students and practitioners, presents here the principles of plane trigonometry, called “rectilinear,” as well as those of trigonometry applied to triangles drawn on a spherical surface - The first part rests on the study of rectilinear triangles and explains the relationship between angles and sides, the different situations for solving a triangle, and the use of trigonometric ratios in geometric calculations - Jacques Ozanam - La Trigonométrie rectiligne et sphérique - 1741 - Charles-Antoine Jombert - [12]-126 pages Good binding, the work in its full mottled calf leather of the period, wear from use, some minor defects on the cover, headcaps, corners and hinges worn, red edges, spine with raised bands, gilt lettering on a tawny morocco piece, cold-stamped borders on the boards - browning, small vignette on the title page, pretty rules, beautiful drop caps, the work enriched with numerous tables of sines, tangents and logarithms and with handsome folding plates engraved in copperplate intaglio, marbled endpapers in good condition, a pleasing copy - Delivery service provided within a few days –
