Jaeger-LeCoultre - K.469 - Men - 1950-1959

Jaeger-LeCoultre – Moon Dial – Calibre 469 – Stainless steel – Around 1950 – Serviced Original unretouched photos to guarantee the most natural possible appearance of the watch. Superb vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre watch from the 1950s, equipped with the renowned in-house manual-winding mechanical movement, Calibre 469. This piece stands out for its magnificent original dial displaying a particularly distinctive natural patina, nicknamed the “Moon Dial,” due to its silvery and charcoal-gray tones evoking the lunar surface. Naturally developed over the decades, this patina gives each watch a unique character. It is beautifully highlighted by its applied baton indexes, its elegant faceted hands, and its small seconds counter at 6 o’clock, finely guilloché with concentric circles. The stainless steel case, with classic and elegant lines, shows a good overall condition with light signs of use appropriate to its age. Movement and servicing The watch is equipped with the Jaeger-LeCoultre 469 caliber, a Swiss mechanical movement hand-wound. The movement has recently undergone a complete mechanical overhaul, including full disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, mainspring maintenance, and regulation. Servicing performed privately, without professional invoice. The results obtained on the chronocomparator are excellent: * Rate: +0 seconds per day * Amplitude: 315° * Beat error: 0.8 ms * Frequency: 18,000 beats per hour These values demonstrate the excellent operation of the movement at the time of inspection. A photo of the chronocomparator check is attached to the listing. Technical specifications * Brand: Jaeger-LeCoultre * Era: Around 1950 * Origin: Switzerland * Calibre: Jaeger-LeCoultre 469 * Movement: Mechanical hand-wound in perfect condition, like new * Case: Unpolished stainless steel * Diameter: 33.5 mm excluding crown * Lug width: 16 mm * Dial: Original silver, natural patina * Indices: Applied batons * Functions: Hours, minutes, and small seconds at 6 o’clock * Strap: Brown leather with crocodile pattern * Maximum wrist size: 230 mm Overall condition Very beautiful vintage piece, preserving the characteristic aesthetics of mid-20th-century Swiss watchmaking. The dial shows a significant natural patina, clearly visible in the photographs. It has deliberately not been restored in order to preserve its authenticity and character. The hands and applied indices provide a very nice contrast with the varying hues of the dial, with exceptional reflections. The movement, recently serviced, operates with excellent performance and adjustment results especially remarkable for a watch of this era. Winding is smooth and setting the time is easy. An elegant Jaeger-LeCoultre collectible, combining a manufacture movement, timeless aesthetics, and a Moon Dial with a uniquely characterful dial. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow an accurate appreciation of the watch’s condition.
