Jaeger-LeCoultre - 'Master Compressor Chronograph'...

Welcome to my Top Swiss Chronographs Boutique! Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the most respected and innovative Swiss luxury watchmakers in the world, often referred to as “The Watchmaker of Watchmakers.” It’s known for its craftsmanship, technical inventions, and iconic designs. Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland — a region famed for fine watchmaking. LeCoultre was an inventor and pioneer: he created the Millionomètre in 1844, the first instrument capable of measuring micrometers — a huge step toward precision manufacturing. The company developed into a full manufacture — meaning it makes its movements, cases, and components under one roof — a rarity in watchmaking. In the early 1900s, Swiss maker LeCoultre collaborated with Edmond Jaeger, a Parisian watchmaker who specialised in ultra-thin movements. Their partnership deepened, and in 1937 the brand name officially became Jaeger-LeCoultre — combining French and Swiss precision traditions. Jaeger-LeCoultre has created more than 1,400 calibres and holds hundreds of patents for its mechanical developments. It is renowned for complications — advanced watchmaking functions such as minute repeaters, perpetual calendars, and multi-axis tourbillons. Jaeger-LeCoultre is unique in the horological world for marrying technical innovation, in-house production, and iconic design. Collectors and enthusiasts revere it both for its historical significance and for timepieces that are built to last generations. Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre SA is Swiss luxury watch manufacturer founded by Antoine LeCoultre in 1833, based in Le Sentier, Switzerland. It has hundreds of inventions, patents, and more than one thousand movements to its name, including the world's smallest movement, one of the world's most complicated wristwatches (Grande Complication), and a timepiece of near-perpetual movement; in short, Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the biggest names in the watchmaking world. For watches older than two years, “original warranty” means that the warranty card is included. Excellent condition, never worn: the wristwatch comes from luxury watch-shop showcase; every morning the watch was put on the stand in the shop window, every evening it was removed from the window This action has been repeated for years and day after day, so the strap doesn't look brand new from the inside. However, no one has ever worn it on their wrist. General professional pre-sale service was made in October 2026: the watch is keeping good time and working perfectly. My personal authenticity and quality warranty: you will get warranty card (as pictured), fully completed, stamped and signed. My impeccable seller reputation speaks for itself: look at my feedbacks and sales ratings. Insured, registered shipping worldwide with Intl. Express service: it’s not cheap, but fast and reliable, two days in Europe, three days for the rest of this world. Everything you see in my pics is included in the package that you'll receive. All photos were taken personally by me and correspond to the exact wrist watch you are placing your bid on. Contemporary reporting also describes ceramic ball bearings in the winding system and a balance regulated by four adjustable inertia screws. These are worthwhile technical details for an enthusiast buyer. NO EXTRA COSTS for EU Buyers! The particularly attractive detail is the counter at 09:00 o'clock, its numbered disc rotates beneath the fixed red pointer, rather than using a conventional moving hour-counter hand. This is visible in your original photo and documented on another example of the reference. It gives the first-generation model much of its character. The tachymeter measures average speed over a known distance: time one kilometre, and the central chronograph hand indicates the corresponding km/h on the scale. Why “Compressor”? The name refers to JLC’s patented compression-key sealing system on the crown and chronograph pushers. Turning the external keys compresses sealing gaskets; the pusher locks also prevent accidental chronograph operation. Describing them simply as conventional “screw-down pushers” misses the distinctive construction. Useful operating details from JLC’s manual: - Open the crown’s compression key before winding or setting. - Upper pusher: start/stop; lower pusher: reset after stopping. - The pusher keys open with a quarter turn. - Avoid quick-setting the date between 22:30 and 03:30. The 1,000 Hours Control The model belongs to JLC’s 1,000 Hours Control programme, which tests the assembled watch as well as its movement. It is JLC’s own testing programme; the terminology should be preserved accurately in the description. The launch specification identifies the corresponding caseback seal. Jaeger‑LeCoultre traces its origins to Antoine LeCoultre’s workshop, founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux. Collaboration with Parisian watchmaker Edmond Jaeger began in 1903, and the combined Jaeger‑LeCoultre name followed in 1937. The manufacture’s history includes the Reverso, Atmos and Memovox, alongside extensive movement development.
