Original heliogravure after the painting by Jan Mankes “Two young magpies” from 1909. The heliogravure is dated 1923. Image dimensions: 19.2 x 13.6 cm Frame dimensions: 31.3 x 22.8 cm Jan Mankes is remembered in art history as “Holland’s most tranquil painter.” The heliogravure was printed and published in 1923 by his wife. A. Zernike-Mankes and Roland Holst. Publisher: J.A.A.M. Van Es - Utrecht 1923. The engraving is in excellent condition and is supplied with a matching cream-colored mat in the depicted sleek black wooden frame (see detail photo).
