Jan Mankes (1889-1920) - Zwarte kraai

Original woodcut of the screaming crow by Jan Mankes (1918), monogram in the block and signed in pencil. A great Dutch master artist, who unfortunately died at 31. His entire oeuvre, produced between 1907 and 1918, comprises about 150 paintings, mostly small in size, about 100 drawings and over 40 sheets of graphic works, mainly etchings and woodcuts. The woodcut is printed on sturdy paper with black ink. On the reverse, you can feel the impression of the woodblock. In nice condition with some creases along the edges.
