Jan Saudek - Hej Joe! Hej Joe - 1990s

Iconic and important original vintage photographic manifesto by the famous Czech master Jan Saudek, depicting one of his most famous geographic and figurative compositions: "Hej Joe! Hej Joe". Shot along the banks of the Vltava with the dreamlike backdrop of Prague, the Charles Bridge and the old town, the image shows an era-motorcycle rider seen from behind as he gazes at the urban panorama. This photograph perfectly encapsulates Saudek's poetic: freedom, the nostalgic Central European atmosphere, rebellion and the Bohemian romance of the years straddling the regime and the reopening of Eastern Europe. The value and collecting interest are greatly enhanced by the presence of the original rectangular outer storage box/case, bearing on the exterior surface the large and unmistakable graphic signature of the artist printed/engraved ("Jan Saudek").
