Japanese Kakiemon Porcelain Fluted Bowl, Pomegranate & Prunus Design

This Japanese Kakiemon-style porcelain fluted bowl features an asymmetrical design characteristic of classic Arita ware. The interior of the molded, lobed vessel is delicately painted in overglaze enamels with a sprawling, multi-toned tree branch bearing ripe pomegranates and lush green foliage, juxtaposed against a lighter blooming prunus spray. A double iron-red band with geometric scrollwork frames the lower well, while a single floret anchors the central medallion. The exterior is sparingly accented with individual floral sprigs and a fluttering butterfly, all set against a clean, milky-white glazed ground. The base reveals a centered, square iron-red seal.
