[Japan] Kentaro Yanagiya (19th century), first consul of Japan in San Francisco in 1876, secretary at the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce in 1889, and general commissioner of Japan for the 1889 World Expo. L.S., Paris, 26 September 1889, 1 page, 4to. To René de Cuers (1855-1929), man of letters and journalist. He acknowledges receipt of Petit Journal with Cuers’ article on the exhibition of the Japan section and will have it translated into Japanese to send to his department.
