Jardinière - depose' 403 - Silverplated - Jardinierie in Louis XV style

I am putting up at auction a beautiful antique jardinière in the Louis XV style, made of silvered/patinated metal with raised ornamentation, used as a decorative centerpiece or indoor planter in bourgeois residences from the late 19th to early 20th century. The item is stamped with the inscription Depose’ 403, Franco-Swiss industrial registration, in an oval gilded shape and structure with shaped side handles bearing floral or scrollwork decoration, and an internal removable metal tray insert with gilded finishes partly faded with time, typical for holding plants or flowers without damaging the outer structure. The item in question needs a light polish and a small restoration to restore its original shine; note that one of the two front acanthus leaf decorations on the front is partly missing for a long time but not very evident. It weighs 2.2 kg, measures 38 cm in width by 16 cm in height and about 19 cm in depth. It will be shipped well packed and as soon as possible. No reserve price. See the photos for a proper impression.

Estimate:£150.76
