Jasba Keramik - Box - Vintage Art Deco Style Ceramic...

Art Deco Style Ceramic Bonbonnière / Lid Box with Flower Knob – Model 25 – Jasba Keramik (Germany) – circa 1950 A magnificent German ceramic lid box / bonbonnière, produced by the renowned Jasba Keramik factory. This model (model number 25) stands out for its pronounced Art Deco design, characterized by the clean, stepped architectural lines on the walls and the lid. As an elegant contrast, the handle on the lid is organically styled as a budding flower with leaves. Historical context: Although the design has its roots in the pure Art Deco period of the 1930s, this piece represents a later production run from the early Mid-Century period (circa 1950), during which Jasba reissued its most successful classic molds. This is beautifully evidenced by the presence of the rare, original silver-coloured foil label from Jasba on the front. The object is finished with a lovely satin-matte pastel green glaze with subtle brown accents on the edges, which gives the geometric lines extra depth. A fantastic collector’s piece that bridges two beloved design eras!
