Jean Le Gall (1969) Born in Quimper in 1969, Jean Le Gall is a French artist trained at Penninghen School in Paris. After his studies, he quickly oriented himself toward interior design and develops an eclectic activity at the crossroads of the visual arts and performance. He collaborates regularly with theater, cinema, television and the music world, for which he designs and creates numerous painted sets. Endowed with a remarkable facility for reproducing contemporary works, Jean Le Gall possesses a high level of technical mastery that allows him to respond to a wide range of projects. He can recreate with great precision compositions, motifs and visual universes intended to be integrated into sets, stages or singular spaces. His work is nourished by the influence of artists such as Sol LeWitt, Peter Halley and Simone Decker, as well as by his deep interest in geometric abstraction. At the end of the 1980s, a conference followed by a meeting with Victor Vasarely marked a turning point in his career. He then discovers Op Art and becomes passionate about perception games, depth effects, chromatic vibrations and optical illusions. Today, Jean Le Gall returns to old canvases, long envisaged only through the prism of decoration. He gives them a new existence and a renewed reading, transforming these works into spaces for pictorial inquiry. Through his work, he seeks to reveal what was already present in these canvases while imparting them with a more personal, contemporary and artistic dimension. This approach constitutes for him a true rebirth: that of works that, after having accompanied sets and stories, are now becoming independent pieces. Pop Dream Gallery is an active structure that operates as a dealer, exhibition curator, and gallery. We primarily focus on the secondary market to present our artists, but we also work with private collectors to develop their collections. We sell some of their works to acquire new pieces more in line with the evolution of time. You can follow us on Instagram, popdreamgallery. Each of our works is signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Pop Dream Gallery. Shipped rolled in a tubular box.
