Jenny Holzer (1950) - PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT

An iconic conceptual work by Jenny Holzer featuring one of her most famous and striking truisms: PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT As with numerous conceptual editions by Jenny Holzer, this edition is offered unsigned. The focus is not on the artist’s personal handwriting, but on the immediate impact of the message. Limited edition from "Contemporary Archeology. Pandora Part Three". With accompanying numbered certificate. Publisher: Publishing House Bébert, Rotterdam. About the work: The concise phrase is carved in plain black typography on a résopal board. The deliberately restrained design is characteristic of Holzer’s text-based art, where language itself becomes the artistic medium. In just a few words, “PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT” explores the tension between desire, power, consumption, self-determination, and vulnerability. Framing: The work is professionally and high-quality framed and presented in an exclusive plexiglass showcase. This can be hung as well as freestanding, allowing for various presentation options. Framed size: approx. 33 × 26 cm About the artist: Jenny Holzer (born 1950) is one of the leading figures in American conceptual art. Since the late 1970s, she has used language as a central medium of her art.
