JFK & Rusk Signed Goldberg Appointment - Grad

Important presidential appointment signed by John F. Kennedy and countersigned by Secretary of State Dean Rusk, dated March 15, 1961. The document appoints Arthur J. Goldberg, then U.S. Secretary of Labor, as a member of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations for a two-year term. Goldberg would go on to become an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court after being appointed by Kennedy in 1962, and later served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. A substantial Kennedy administration document connecting three major figures of the era: Kennedy, Rusk, and Goldberg. The large-format appointment has its embossed presidential seal and presents very well. Kennedy's signature has been verified authentic by autograph expert Steve Grad, Certificate GA-11423.
