"Rhinoceros. Hornnase Rhinocer" presents a detailed historical zoological study showcasing a rhinoceros standing on a small patch of ground. Joannes Jonstonus was a celebrated Polish physician, scholar, and natural historian who published encyclopedic scientific treatises detailing the animal kingdom during the seventeenth century, illustrated with plates engraved by Matthäus Merian.
