H: 25,5 cm. Sehr guter, gepflegter Zustand. Elektrisch überprüft und voll funktionstüchtig. | JOHANN LÖTZ WITWE, small table lamp “Melusin.” 1900–1905 Klostermühle. An elegant Art Nouveau table lamp from the renowned Johann Lötz Witwe glassworks. The hemispherical shade, made of deep blue glass in the characteristic “Melusin” pattern, rests on a curved, three-armed shade holder. The company was known not only for its extraordinary vases but also for its beautiful lampshades, some of which were produced in this particular decorative variation. This type of decoration enjoyed great popularity among leading artists of the time. The influences of designers who worked closely with the glassworks or shared its aesthetic are clearly evident here. Notable figures in this context include Josef Hoffmann, Marie Kirschner, Adolf Beckert, and Leopold Bauer, whose work significantly shaped the stylistic direction of this era. The slender, hammered brass base tapers downward and transitions, via a beige Bakelite segment, into a broad, flared embossed base. The interplay between the patinated brass surface and the intense blue glass shade—which glows atmospherically when lit—evokes a typical motif of the Vienna Secession. H: 25.5 cm. Very good, well-maintained condition. Electrically tested and fully functional. SHIPPING TO THE USA MUST BE ARRANGED BY THE BUYER.
