The leather shows a beautiful period patina with slight signs of wear at the headbands and boards, not serious. Joints solid. • Interior condition: Interior fresh despite a few foxings and sporadic browning entirely normal for 18th-century paper. Original fabric bookmark preserved. Old manuscript ownership signature ("Lise Louvet") on the title page, adding historical charm to the copy. • Illustration: Complete with its superb copper-engraved frontispiece facing the title, depicting the final dramatic scene of the novel.
