The Dish has a large oval form with a shaped rim decorated with bold gadrooning, interspersed with bold Rococo shells, flanked by acanthus foliage. One side of the border is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by a pluming scroll cartouche and the other with a contemporary Crest. The work of John Houle is nearly always of exceptional quality and design, reflecting his apprenticeship in the Paul Storr workshops.
