John Moore of Ipswich (British, 1820-1902) A stormy day

signed 'J. Moore' l.l., oil on panel, 26 x 48cm; framed 37.5 x 59.5cm, Condition Report, Condition Report, The panel is slightly bowed. A little light surface dirt and discolouration. Slight rubbing to extreme left edge. Some small losses/ abrasions to the upper edge in the upper left corner. On close inspection there is some fine craquelure. The work has an even layer of clear varnish. Examined under UV light some small scattered spots and speckles of retouching to the sky fluoresce, however in our opinion the work presents well overall when viewed on the wall.
