Circa 1930 " Verrerie de Bourdieur & Durand" for Joma in Montreuil, Paris. Art Deco era, around 1920/1930 Magnificent Art Deco JOMA vase in blown glass on a small foot, presenting an elegant pear-shaped form with a tightened neck. On a delicate background of clear glass slightly matte, a superb floral decoration, fully enameled and hand-painted, unfolds, composed of large azure blue stylized flowers with bright yellow centers, deep brown foliage and fine branches laden with yellow berries. The decoration is distinguished by its thick and generous enameling, particularly perceptible to the touch, which gives a slight relief to the flowers and foliage. The flared then tightened neck, outlined in black and vividly enameled with a blazing orange, provides a magnificent contrast to the whole. A very beautiful composition with vibrant colors, perfectly representative of the Art Deco aesthetics of the 1930s. Remarkable work of high quality enameling, with very thick flowers, as well as a beautiful execution by the glassblower who gave the vase a magnificent geometric and captivating form. Excellent artisanal work from the early 20th century Vase signed Joma with black enamel in the décor, which is the contraction of the first names of the two owners: Joseph Bourdieu & Max Durand, whose workshop of the "Verrerie de Bourdieur & Durand" was located near Paris in Montreuil. Nice height of 195 mm with a very beautiful volume of a circumference of up to 470 mm at its bulging widest point. Magnificent example whose series with other vases signed Joma are perfectly referenced and illustrated in the famous and rare raison d’être directory of the great "Dictionnaire des Maîtres Verriers" listing and classifying all the finest collection vases from the Art Nouveau period to the Art Deco period. See the latest photos In good condition for its advanced age, with enamel that is still fresh and thick, displaying pretty colors. Noting just a discreet small firing defect / air bubble quite common at the base of the vase on the foot, a testimony to the artisan techniques of the era, with no impact on the overall aesthetics of this magnificent Art Deco piece, which will surely enhance your interior and impress your guests!
