Exceptional set of two major volumes on theoretical physics and gravitation: 1. Volume 1 of Relativity (1922): Mythical table of contents including Élie Cartan (Einstein's Gravitation), S. Zaremba, J. Le Roux, A. Buhl, as well as the national tribute to Camille Jordan. 2. André Lichnerowicz (1944): "General Relativity and the N-body problem". Provenance: Original academic set bearing the characteristic marks of the mathematician Jean Leray's working fonds (handwritten signatures in pencil and dedications by peers attributed). This volume also bears the declassified stamp, witnesses to the academic and institutional exchanges of the era. Lot sold as is, the signatures and historic provenance being offered as "attributed" based on the visible physical elements. Signatures & Marks: Presence of a handwritten signature attributed to Jean Leray.
