A silver vessel in the shape of a truncated cone. The body, resting on a pedestal, is decorated with fluting and topped with a frieze of interlacing patterns and shells. The body is engraved with the combined coat of arms of Amaury, Marquis de La Moussaye, and his wife, née Diane de Monteynard (who married in 1906). The lid is surmounted by a handle in the shape of a leafy pomegranate. Minerva hallmark, 1st standard. Goldsmith’s hallmark illegible. The reverse marked ‘Geo Auger / Paris / Place des Victoires’. Height: 23 cm. Gross weight: 618 g. (Normal wear and scratches, sold as is).
