Julien Mettenanxt (1922–1988) - Sfeervol winterlandschap met kerkgangers

Atmospheric winter landscape with worshippers, oil on canvas, Julien Mettenanxt (1922–1988). Belgium around the 1960s Bring the hushed romance of a Flemish winter evening into your home with this powerful painting by artist Julien Mettenanxt. The canvas depicts a village scene at night: parents and children wrap themselves in dark coats and trudge through the deep snow toward the village church. Thanks to the expressive and rich palette knife usage, the snow has a tangible, lively texture that beautifully contrasts with the dark sky, in an impasto style. The artwork is correctly signed in the lower left corner "J. Mettenanxt" and is in excellent authentic condition, entirely "dans son jus" in its original beautiful bronze-gilt frame. A atmospheric and collectible piece, ready to take a prominent place on the wall! IMPORTANT: Given the value, size and/or fragility, this artwork must be picked up!
