The JVC CD-1655 (produced between 1973 and 1976) is a classic top-loading stereo cassette deck known for its angled control panel (slant panel) and wooden housing. Below you will find all technical and functional features of this specific model: Visual & Mechanical Features • Design: A top-loading table model with a walnut wood housing. The control panel is slanted for better ergonomics during seated operation. • VU Meters: Equipped with two analog, backlit VU meters (left and right) on the top to visually monitor recording and playback levels. • Tape Counter: A mechanical 3-digit analog counter with a reset button to keep track of the tape position. • Control Keys: Robust mechanical piano keys on the right side (Record, Rewind, Fast Forward, Play/Record, Stop and Eject). • Slider Controls: Two independent vertical sliders on the left to separately set the recording level for the left and right channels (REC/PB LEVEL L-R).
