KAISERZINN - Designer Hugo LEVEN - Centre table - Nr

SPLENDID FLORAL CHOREOGRAPHY: A FIGURATIVE CENTERPIECE or basket of extreme rarity, dating from the height of Art Nouveau (circa 1900). Much more than a mere utilitarian object, this is a genuine organic creation—fully documented and cataloged—where sculpted matter poetically narrates the life of plant forms under the aegis of the prestigious German manufacture Kayserzinn. THE TULIP AS A TOTAL WORK OF ART (GESAMTKUNSTWERK): - THE BASKET unfolds with remarkable suppleness, structured by fluid, enveloping foliage that forms the decorative framework of the piece. - THE SINGLE HANDLE rises with grace, topped at its apex by a single, closed tulip bud. - VISUAL ECHOES: Through a subtle interplay of visual echoes, this initial bud corresponds to the interior of the bowl where the flower gradually blooms, offering a striking vegetal symbolism close at hand. KAISERZINN EXCELLENCE & THE GENIUS OF HUGO LEVEN: - CATALOGED MODEL: Documented in specialized repertoires and archives, this masterpiece corresponds to the official Model 4308 (Fruchtkorb / Henkelschale mit Tulpen), directly attributed to the major creations of the manufacture's master designer, Hugo Leven, a key figure in international Jugendstil design. - PERIOD FINISHES: The house's historical commercial catalogs offered this large-scale piece in two main finishes: the raw natural version (Ausführung natur) and the sumptuous polished version (poliert), which enhances the shimmering reflections of the artistic pewter. This specimen features this luminous finish, highlighting every sculpted relief. - THE STAMP AND ITS MARKINGS: The manufacturer's hallmark, engraved and struck at the base, features a distinctive structure. The name "KAISERZINN" is inscribed in an arc, while the model number "4308" occupies the opposite side. At the very center of this circular medallion, the digit "4" is sharply struck into the metal, reflecting the workshop's authentic period punching codes. Cast in solid artistic pewter, the object weighs a high-quality 1.625 kg, bearing witness to the manufacturing excellence of the Kayserzinn workshops.
