The piece is embedded in a blend of acrylic materials after being hand-shaped by Karl Lagasse. Each piece is unique in its form, hand-shaped and formed by the artist. Karl Lagasse. Authenticity: Delivered with an official certificate of authenticity from the artist. A pure marvel for collectors, art lovers, or simply as an investment. Delivery information: You will receive our shipments, both national and international, exclusively via DHL Express, our logistics partner. The works are shipped from the artist based in the United States to our logistics platform in France, which handles import and customs clearance, before sending them individually back to our collectors without any constraints. The transport cost includes all fees from the departure of the United States to your home. IMPORTANT: NEVER accept a damaged package without opening and inspecting it. Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained prominence in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking that same year among the top ten sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais. Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, prompted by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He then turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro, while remaining passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin. Karl particularly enjoys unveiling his works at international exhibitions. In 2011, he was represented by Bel Air Fine Art at the Monaco Art Salon with his Cryptogram One. The following year, he presented his One Dollar works on the theme “In God We Trust” at the Artco France gallery. His 2016 solo show at Atrium Gallery in Marbella, Spain, was inaugurated by the mayor, who praised his works in front of the international press. For the occasion, a 1.8-meter bronze cryptogram and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event. - 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at CID. The artists interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison... 2023: - Aspen St. Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar in front of the St. Regis. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire. 2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures are positioned on the ground, symbolizing the reimbursement of humanity’s largest debt - Art Paris - Galerie Michel Vidal 2014: - Maserati presents in world premiere the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by the artist Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary. - Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris.
