Karl Lagerfeld - Deux cartes postales et collages...

Exceptional and extremely rare set of two intimate and personal cards by Karl Lagerfeld, addressed to his longtime partner, Jacques de Bascher. These pieces attest to their unique relationship and offer a privileged glimpse into their private sphere. The lot comprises: - A first sturdy postcard with a black-and-white striped border: on the back is handwritten in pencil “for Jacques, memory of Rome,” framing a vintage black-and-white photograph of a woman holding a mandolin leaned against a tree. The card also bears Karl Lagerfeld’s characteristic monogram discreetly traced on the side. - A second card handwritten in gold ink: Written by Karl Lagerfeld with his flamboyant calligraphy, starting with “My dear Jacquard,” and mentioning their dog Mr Ashton. This card is adorned with a small pasted image depicting Mr Ashton in a garden. Condition: Original outstanding condition for personal archival documents. Paper slightly aged by time bearing witness to their authenticity. Normal signs of use (see detailed photos).
