Kartell - Nena Balsari - Jardinière - Kartell 4687 - Plastic

Angular planter on wheels Kartell 4687 - Nena Balsari - 70s Splendid and iconic modular angular planter in Italian mid-century modern design, model Art. 4687, designed by Nena Balsari for Kartell in the early 1970s. This piece fully embodies the Space Age aesthetics of the era, characterized by clean geometric lines and the innovative use of glossy molded plastic. Its triangular shape is designed to optimize the angles of rooms or to be placed next to other identical modules to create green dividers and customized geometric compositions. The bottom is equipped with its three original, hidden wheels, perfectly functional, which allow moving the planter with ease even when fully loaded. On the lower base there is the factory brand embossed: "Kartell - Art. 4687 - Made in Italy". The lot is offered in its black glossy finish, one of the most elegant, sought-after, and collectible color variants, as it is not subject to the yellowing typical of the light versions of the period. Dimensions: • Height (H): 36 cm • Width (L): 63 cm • Depth (P): 41 cm Condition of the item and restoration potential: The item is structurally integral and solid, free from cracks, chips, or breaks in the plastic. The wheels on the bottom are smooth and functioning. The black glossy finish shows widespread superficial scratches and signs of rubbing on the outer surface, consistent with age and prolonged use. As this is original Kartell unpainted ABS plastic, the item lends itself perfectly to easy conservative restoration: a classic professional polish (via plastic polish or wax for automotive finishes) will allow the future buyer to remove the surface opacity and restore the piece to its original deep gloss, lacquer-like brilliance.
