The selected artists work in a wide variety of movements and styles, from the hyperrealism of Antonio López to the abstraction of Sol Lewitt, including abstract expressionism, the geometrism of Arden Quin, conceptual art, pop art, the new realism of Baldaccini and Rotella, and the new fauvism of Dokoupil, among others. Among the artists represented are creators of great international renown, widely recognised by critics. ABOUT THE ARTIST Known by his artist name Unbo (Seoul, 1913–2001), he was one of the leading figures in 20th-century Korean painting. Trained by the master Kim Eun-ho, he began his career working within the tradition of Korean Eastern painting, with a particular focus on the figure and landscape. Following Korea’s liberation in 1945, he embarked on a profound transformation of his artistic language, gradually incorporating elements of Cubism, abstraction, and a calligraphic brushstroke. His artistic collaboration with his wife, the painter Park Re-hyun, was particularly significant for the renewal of Korean painting. Among his best-known series are *The Life of Jesus*, *Blue-Green Landscapes*, and the so-called *Landscapes of the Fool*. His work is part of the collection of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Korea.
