Kitchen scene with fireplace. 17th-century Dutch School of David Teniers

Descriptio Oil on panel. Dimensions: 22 x 32 cm (38 x 48 x 6 cm with frame). The inscription “54” is preserved in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a lively peasant interior, where several figures are gathered around a table by the fire. The painter achieves a warm atmosphere through contrasts of light that precisely model the space and the figures. The realism of the objects and the naturalness of the gestures, inherited from the tradition of Teniers and Ostade, are particularly noteworthy. This painting, representative of 17th-century Flemish genre painting, combines technical virtuosity with narrative sensitivity. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
