Kneeling monk in worship in Namaskar / Anjali Mudra, a traditional gesture of respect and devotion. Very importantly, the statue has been treated with complete respect: there was no drilling into the bronze. The wiring ran at the time exclusively through a wooden base (the former cable hole at the back of the pedestal has been expertly sealed). The bronze is therefore 100 percent original and undamaged. The statue weighs a substantial 3 kg. That confirms that the original heavy casting core of red clay and casting sand (lost-wax method) is still fully intact inside the bronze. Private Belgian possession.
